How long have you been interested in music?I’ve been interested in music ever since I was eight years old, which was the first time I sang the anthem at a hockey game. I really started singing at a lot of different places after that and eventually became more serious about doing music as a career.
What made you realize you wanted to be a singer?
Honestly, I’ve just always loved music. I don’t think there was one particular moment that made me realize I wanted to be a singer, although I do remember someone once told me that to be happy in life you should do something you love, something you can’t live without, and for me that is music.
Who do you enjoy listening to?
There are so many different artists and genres of music that I enjoy listening to because I really love the structures of different styles. I’ll just list some of my favourites though, because if I were to list all the artists I enjoyed listening to, it would go on for a while. I really love the classic rock bands Boston and Prism. I also love Adele, Keith Urban, Ed Sheeran, Doris Day, John Denver, The Band Perry, and Lana Del Rey.
What do you do to relax?
Well, I usually write or read. Music is also very relaxing for me, as I find it tends to redirect my focus and help me filter my thoughts.
If you could duet with anyone in the world (living of dead) who would it be?
I would probably have to say Adele. I think that she is an incredible artist, particularly in her vocal precision and tone quality. I think there is so much to learn from her. It’s a hard decision, because I also think it would have been incredible to be able to duet with John Denver. He had such an easy way about his singing that just makes you smile.
What do you enjoy to watch on television?
Right now some of my favourite TV shows are the X-Files, Friends and Sherlock. Now if we are talking about movies: I really love the Pirates of the Caribbean series and movies from the 80’s like The Breakfast Club.
What is your favourite food?
Pasta!!! I could honestly live on this stuff!
